Ecommerce - Survey Trends for 2007
2006 eCommerce Sales results passed the $100 billion mark. So how does this compare to 2005? eCommerce sales in 2005 totalled $102.1 billion. During the peek of the 2006 holiday season - 12 days reached over $600 million in spending. eCommerce Traffic - At the close of 2006 online eCommerce traffic was reported to be as high as 3.5 million unique visitors per minute - according to Akamai Technologies.
Marketing- Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) has reported that they expect marketing via search engines to be over $10 billion in 2007. This means that online searrch advertising will increase more than 50% this year alone.
Internet Advertising - Zenith Optimedia predicts that internet advertising spending for 2007 will grow more than 28% this year. As a comparison - other non Internet media is expected to only grow by 3.9% at max.
Mobile Data Users - 80% of current cellualr users are expected to extend their services to leverage data services by 2011. This translates into approximaltey $200 billion additional revenue dollars for cellular companies from 2007 through 2011. Reported byStrategy Analytics.
Email Marketing - Datran Media held a survey that revealed that 83% of marketing professionals believe that email marketing is the most important advertising vehicle.
Multimedia - Advertising.com reported from recent surveys that 66% of the surveyed consumer group viewed streaming online video content at least once a week. The content most often viewed is entertainment and news.
