Sony announces plans to launch a Video-Sharing Site in Japan

Hey - YouTube has a serious challenger! Sony just released their plans to launch a video-sharing site in Japan. The online service is called "eyeVio".

Sony said it would keep a close eye on the "eyeVio" site so they can monitor it closely. Why? Becuase YouTube reportedly faces a $1 billion copyright lawsuit. Sony also wants to be more corporate focused - not just for the xGeners. This will allow them to release content like ads and corporate messages.

The proposed site will be monetized through media partnerships and advertising. It will be free for it's users!
