Enterprise networking has the spotlight.
Recently, IDC Research reported that networking is leaving the rest of IT in the dust.
Here are the approximate breakdowns per IDC's Abner Germanow.
- Storage grew at a rate of 6.2%
- Servers grew at approximately 6%
- Packaged software was up 8%
- Enterprise networking leaped forward 17%
Enterprise networkings huge growth is largely attributed to the interest and competitive need for intelligent and sophisticated networking.
The next generation enterprise networks need to support mobile, video, voice and real-time collaboration with security.
These technologies might appear to be a nice-to-have. But as more and more of this functionality is introduced to the general public-it will become an expectation of employees, partners and buyers.
So-support for secure mobility, visibility into all core processes, real-time collaboration, interactivity, data-data-data NOW.
