Vonage Court is still in session- Patent workarounds missed the deadlines

Vonage is trying to save their business against patent infringements with Verizon. Their savior was to incorporate some workarounds that would avoid the patent infringements.

One BIG problem. They did'nt get them ready in time to appease the appeals court. They reported that they may not even be possible. As they are harder than engineering projected.

So what about reality? Recently when they announced their first quarter results- they confirmed that two of the "workarounds" were almost done and would be deployed soon. Vonage also said it narrowed losses in 1Q07 to $72 million versus
$86 million in the same quarter last year. They also bosted a 64 percent increase in revenue to $196 million. Vonage is claiming 166,000 new subscribers over a 3 month period with 2.4 million current subscribers.

Sounds good-but the growth equates to approximately half of their previous growth pace. We will keep an eye on them along with the courts and Verizon.
