AT&T Metro WiFi solution - AT&T deployed a Mesh Network in Riverside California

AT&T just launched a mesh-based deployment that includes municipal public safety network along with a consumer and business solution - also known as a muni-WiFi.

The first muni-WiFi commercial release is called the AT&T Metro WiFi solution. It covers 3 square miles including downtown Hunter Technology Park and Adams Auto Center. Riverside is testing the service to run video to and from police patrol cars, to monitor traffic and to keep an eye on problem areas for illegal dumping, graffiti and building security. There are also reports out that AT&T is also trying to get a a contract to build Chicago's WiFi network. AND we all know that AT&T is selling the WiFi-enabled iPhone!
