Nokia's Project White Rock-Multiplayer - Multiplatform Gaming Service

Nokia is at work on a series of new tech initiatives in hopes to resurrect their N-Gage gaming service.

Last month Nokia's director of
technology and strategy for games and multimedia -Mark Ollila-confirmed that they were developing Project White Rock. This is a multiplayer game targeting both mobile and PC platforms.
They are developing this with gaming producer RedLynx.

Project White Rock is based on the Nokia's Java-based SNAP
turnkey solution. According to Mr. Ollila, moving to multi-platform gaming is their broader plan to create a community around the N-Gage platform.

Another interesting spin from Nokia is their development approach. They are incorporating the ability for users to create gaming titles fro user-generated content. This translates to interactive design for the end-user by the end-user! Nice job Nokia!
