Yahoo! struggles to get back in the game - But its not over yet!

Yahoo! announced a new mobile portal page at the at CES show in Vegas over the past week. Additionally, they are overhauling their Go platform for web services on mobile phones.

The popular movement is to open up their platforms to 3rd party developers. This became evident when Google and Apple turned the wireless mobile market into the hottest market for 2007. The major driving factor is to obtain or maintain mobile users and to get some revenues in the $1.8 billion advertising industry.

Finally, Yahoo! has joined the pack opening their mobile platform to accept third party widgets. This was a critical strategy that should have been embraced months ago. They are now seen as followers - this was not a strategy.

Still lingering is Yahoo's position on delivering a mobile VoIP phone
application. They could leverage partner eBay's Skype or they could expand their Yahoo! Voice product offering.

In any case- they are finally back in the loop-until they get turn upside down by yet another innovative market driving play by their competitors.

Yahoo! -Don't think you're out of the woods yet! I suggest you hire some global visionaries to raise the bar for 2008!
