Rohati Systems- Cisco Engineers for Startup

The concept of what we all refer to as traditional firewalls will be challenged with a new startup called Rohati Systems. The company was started by five former Cisco engineers with a goal to provide a device that offers a very granular method of throttling user access on a per-user basis.
Rohati's network-based entitlement control device will limit access to applications on the network.

The product works by sniffing and checking to see if users should be granted access based on user credentials like VPN SSL, Kerberos or Microsoft's NTML. The configuration is started by putting the device in monitor mode on your network. Then it builds a policy that managers can further fine-tune. You can get the beta with expectations of them shipping sometime in July.
