Mophie enters into the Mobile Payment Systems Market

Mophie is releasing an iPhone credit card reader

Mophie makes iPhone and iPod accessories and batteries. It is reported on the IT Portal that they will use CES 2010 as the platform to release an iPhone credit card reader and third-party payment processing application.

Mophie is calling the accessory the “Credit Card Reader”. Not too flashy ey? In any case -purchases will also combine a free third party processing application which enables users to turn the iPhone into a device that accepts credit payments. You can swipe a credit card through the slot-like casing that is connected to the iPhone.

Mophies new mobile payment system has industry analysts saying that their success will depend on the design and bulk of the iPhone when it is connected. Not to mention the price must be acceptable for the target user. Just who is that user?
