AOL acquires Mobile advertising platform provider-Third Screen Media
AOL recently purchased Third Screen Media-a mobile advertising platform provider. The move is a play to gain marketshare in the global mobile advertising market forecasted to hit $11.3 billion by 2011.
The advantage of the acquisition is that they can offer advertisers a well-rounded offering that includes display advertising, search capabilities and mobile solutions.
AOL will also leverage Third Screen Medias' partnerships with mobile web publishers, brand advertisers, and wireless operators. Fox News, MSNBC.com, Telephia and Universal McCann are also added to their partner list thanks to Third Screen.
Third Screen Media will operate in Boston as a wholly-owned subsidiary of AOL's Advertising.com division. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
