Australia Mobile TV - Delay in Licensing

The Australian Communications and Media Authority is planning on licensing TV Channels for Mobile TV.

Australian carrier Telstra and commercial television networks Seven, Nine and Ten are hot on each others' trail to get these new Mobile TV licences.

The Channel A license is for special interest groups such as, religious programming or shopping shows. While the golden licenses wanted are the "Channel B" licenses for Mobile TV.

However, recently, the Australian Communications and Media Authority haulted the license release due to few snags in the sales/licensing documents.

The delay of these two digital
television licenses will pushback the proposed Mobile TV deployments in Australia - this includes the license application process. Updates to follow..
