Nortel - Rumors of a Buy

The Telecom scoop is that Nortel is circling around Avaya. Avaya was a part of Lucent which was also hooked to Western Electric
which was long-ago a part of AT&T.

Ok. So- if the merger of Nortel and Avaya goes forward- it would be the world's biggest vendor of telephone equipment. This would also
Make Nortel the dominant player in enterprise VoIP.

The Wall Street Journal reports that
There are still negotiations on price. deal is hinging on price and payment terms-cash to stock details.

One major issue looms with industry analysts - their product deliverables roadmaps overlap with Avaya -not a great value add.
