Qualcomm and ITC ban sticks - Patch will be available for handsets
Qualcomm got no relief from the ITC Thursday -they denied their request for a stay regarding their U.S. ban.
Instead, the ITC handed down an eight-page ruling stating that Qualcomm failed to meet a "four-prong test" applied by courts to
determine whether to grant preliminary injunctions.
As I reported earlier- the Industry association CTIA already requested President Bush to step in
against the ITC decision with the U.S. Court of Appeals. Nothing yet-no surprise there.
Sprint reportedly says that they are implementing a Qualcomm software patch as a workaround against the current ban. Supposidly their upcoming Qualcomm handset launches will not be negatively impacted. We will all have to see what the real impact will be for Qualcomm mobile users.
