iPhone Developers Wanted! Create Web 2.0 Applications for the iPhone

Apple just released a website called the Apple Developer Connection. This is great news for developers that want to create applications that run on iPhones. Many developers were taken back when Apple announced back in Janurary that developers could only develop applications using the Safari 3 Public Beta web browser. This caused a big limitation for developers. Now, with Web 2.0 support, we are off and running!
The Apple iPhone Developer Connection website offers:
  • Collaboration with Web Developers
  • Integration between Phone, Mail, and Maps
  • Understanding User-iPhone Interaction
  • Using Standards and Best Design Practices
  • Optimization for web page Viewing and Readability
  • Ensuring a Great Audio and Video Experience
  • Safari Support on iPhone
With this announcement - iPhone development will take off !
According to Apple - "Developers can create Web 2.0 applications that look and behave just like the applications built into iPhone, and provide seamless integration with iPhone applications and services including making a phone call, sending an e-mail and displaying a location in Google Maps. Third-party applications created using web standards can extend iPhone's capabilities without compromising its reliability or security."

This can only be good news for AT&T too. More more applications running on the iPhone will mean more value to their iPhone customers - translating into increased revenues for AT&T!!

And YES - if you are a mobile applications developer looking for work...send me an email!
