SunRocket's blastoff reached a point of no turn
I decided to write a quick update on SunRocket after one of my trusted colleagues mentioned his SunRocket VoIP service was not looking very promising. Both my colleague and another 200,000 customers are feeling the troubles associated with chosing a dedicated VoIP business model. The first hint was the slew of layoffs. But the clincher was when subscribers found they couldn't make calls this past Monday. To top that shock- real support people were replaced with recordings. Let this be a reminder of fast market changes, trends and power plays that don't even let the so called leaders - rest.
The eye-opener is that they were named to FierceVoIP's top 15 companies last year. The mobile, voice and content data markets are very similar to when the Internet just hit. You can be #1 today and gone tomorrow. Business models, customer demand and xstreme competition make for a fair and not so fare bloody battle. It is the investors and consumers who pay-not to mention those in the direct space where the failure occurred.
VoIP.
