YouTube Enterprise -Corporate videos, PR and training deliverd by our friends at Google
YouTube in the enterprise - here we go IT and PR folks.... This could be tricky!
I smell the word BLOCKED all over this one.
The big question will be to decide if YouTube Enterprise should be on the "blocked" list. That's the easy part. Forget that-now they will also need internal use policies or you may have YouTube gone wild with posted content that is all over the map! BusinessWeek reports Google "is preparing a corporate version of YouTube to create videos for training and employee communications."
Some benefits could be that YouTube makes uploading videos to a web server fast and simple. Well-that's not such a huge benefit. Training is most likely pre-approved and posted in a process. Not on the fly. So they may have internal corporate culture and process to overcome. However, it is an option for those who do want to distribute training videos, corporate communications or PR related announcements. However -IT departments and managers will need to also decide-who has access to post, what are content appropriate guidelines etc..
It only takes one slip of an employee decision of a post..then a leak to the public YouTube to get a PR or HR nightmare rolling! YouTube Enterprise will be bundled-with the next revision of Google Apps. No delivery date is set.
