Mobile Content & Social Networking Growth

Market analysis firm Juniper Research just released their new forecasts for Mobile revenues.

The mobile operator revenues, with user-generated content, will increase x10 over the next five years. This means it will skyrocket from $576 million(2007) up to $5.74 BILLION by 2012!

Juniper thinks that 50% will be from social networking services. This equates to 600 million by 2012. Currently it is at 14 million for active mobile social network subscribers.

The majority of growth will come from new markets where fixed broadband access is limited. So the cell phone will be a key device used to access the Internet in those areas.
