Xohm Me Up Scotty - Sprints new WiMax service

I've named many development projects along with commercial products and services. AND..this new service must have never gotten rid of the development code name -Xohm!

What the heck is "Xohm"?
It's Sprints new WiMax service that is open access. So all WiMAX-certified devices can operate on Xohm. Oh- and devices won't need carrier certifications.

The gold-rush with WiMax is the smell of another Internet-like revolution. Sprint is counting on it.
Why? They are betting that new entertainment devices will be internet-enabled. So next-gen video cameras, PMPs and MP3 players will have Internet capability.

And yes its possible. In 1997 I worked on a industrial control project that had video cameras with a small web servers embedded on them. They were used in plants for very hazardous conditions. So why Not for the masses...it is coming..trust me on that.

The Xohm service is set to launch
in Chicago then Baltimore and Washington D.C. by the close of 07. More markets will launch by mid-08.
And Xohm-is pronounced-Home.
