T-Mobile - WiFi and Cellular services merge

More WiFi action is coming from T-Mobile. They just announced their plans to merge Wi-Fi and cellular communications - under the settling dust of Apples' iPhone release.

T-Mobile's HotSpot @Home service lets customers place cell calls and VoIP calls from a single mobile phone. You will need T-Mobile's HotSpot @Home service, broadband connection, wireless router and one of the phones designed for the HotSpot @Home service.

When you're within range of a T-Mobile HotSpot, or your home's Wi-Fi network, all in/out calls are placed using the phone's wireless VoIP technology.

Hummm, wonder what this will do to TelCo revenue models? What about end-user costs? Will they be adjusted to lower fees? We shall see.
