Vodafone Launches Facebook for Mobile Operators

Facebook, social networking giant, announced Facebook for Mobile Operators!

This new mobile platform delivers streamlined integration between Facebook applications and wireless devices.

The first carrier to jump on-board is Vodafone. They implemented Facebook for Mobile Operators launching in the U.K. and Germany first. Their next rollouts are scheduled for subsidiaries located in Italy, Spain, Greece, Ireland, and Portugal.

So how are revenues generated? Facebook's director of mobile, Jed Stremel, reportedly said that mobile operators will generate data revenues as their subscribers access their service.
