Korea- World leader in Mobile Technology and Content development

For those of you who are new to the mobile space- Korea is the undisputed world leader in mobile technology and content development. They are actually ahead of Europe and the rest of Asia. The U.S. Is three years behind.

Korea is a technology and mobile haven. They use cell phones for almost everything. They can scan and pay for items at a store without ever "checking-out" formally with a cashier. The same for buying goods they may see while window shopping-just shop, swipe, pickup or wait for shipment/delivery.

They also use cell phones to record TV shows remotely, turn on/off electrical devices in their home, start their cars remotely and so much more. Just about anything you can imagine is most likely done or under development. Their main target now is the Mobile TV space. This explains why they are the driving force that has led to implementation of broadband speed networks and multimedia content for mobile customers. All personal information is encrypted on their phones with preferred delivery data, payment methods are stored in memory and automatically applied. And of course-they have voice biometrics security to access their phones in case they are lost or compromised. The only thing I have not heard is actual Iris scanning access!

If you are in the space and want to be competitve -go to iMobicon being held in Korea at the last part of August. This event will show you how they have become so successful. You can also take away best practices that they applied to become the world leader. Also note that there will be a Pre-Conference Workshop. This will cover Korea's Mobile 3G Service Deployment and the Open Mobile Alliances'(OMA) Latest Work. Check The JamieWire or internet under "iMobicon" for exact dates.
